Help
If you already installed BumpTop Widget Manager, you can stop reading this and relax. BumpTop Widget Manager will take care of everything. :)
Most BumpTop widgets should have some sort of installer. If it doesn't, check out the developers section for some tips.
BumpTop external widgets are stored in
C:\Users\Userame\AppData\Roaming\Bump Technologies, Inc\BumpTop\Widgets (Vista/Win7) or
C:\Documents and Settings\Userame\Application Data\Bump Technologies, Inc\BumpTop\Widgets (XP)
If the installation ends up somewhere else, move it to this folder.
And make sure you don't change this path, even if the installer allows it.
If BumpTop Widget Manager isn't working, you can manualy unpack the .BtWidget files, by renaming them to .rar first. But leave me a feedback about it first, so I can fix it!
You should only manually delete widgets that came with a self extractor.
If a widget isn't using the Widget Managers auto-updater (or it's own method of updating), you will need to manually upgrade it.
If the widgets start a slideshow after doubleclicking them, instead of whatever they are supposed to do, you have this problem.
This was fixed in BumpTop v1.5. Make sure you have the latest version - http://bumptop.com/download.php!
If the widgets start a slideshow after doubleclicking them, the hack below shoud fix your widgets.
UPDATE: If you are using BumpTop Widget Manager, you can use it's "reset widget" function instead.
UPDATE: BumpTop Widget Manager now includes a portable ImageMagick distribution. Just install BumpTop Widget Manager instead of following the complex procedure below. ;)
Several widgets here require ImageMagick.
You can find the download link to ImageMagick here. Just select the one on top.
Since ImageMagick runs natively under Linux, there is another step after installation: You need to rename convert.exe to imconvert.exe.
Here is an explanation from ImageMagick's web site - Usage under Windows:
convert is a Windows command in the Windows system directory (for converting FAT32 to NTFS). It is suggested you rename the IM convert command to "imconvert.exe" to distinguish the two commands. You can't rename the system command, as a windows service pack would just restore it, ignoring the renamed version.
Navigate to ImageMagick install path, which should look somehing like - C:\Program Files (x86)\ImageMagick-(version)\ and rename convert.exe to imconvert.exe.
You'll find widgets from several authors on this page. Make sure to read the widgets descriptions carefully as some widgets may have some other requirements.
If you want to ask a question or suggest an idea, wisit the forum.
